About the program

African wildlife is in danger due to human expansion and industrialization. These endangered species need the help of people from all walks of life to save them. We recommend working with animals as a volunteer with wildlife in South Africa if you want to make a huge difference while also having fun and staying motivated.

More than 40,000 endangered species inhabit Africa, of which some are found in just one location. Conservation efforts are critical to preserve the many species that exist in just one location. Many people simply donate money, but this usually misses the opportunity to get involved. Conservation efforts commonly require a lot of time and effort, so getting involved is a good option. The lions, cheetahs, leopards, spotted hyenas and other predators found in this reserve are just a few of the animals found here.

Volunteers work with the guidance of park rangers, staff and interns.

Colunteers are allowed to assist in a wide range of activities, including, but not limited to: tracking and monitoring of wild animals, and awareness in local communities and on farms. Daily maintenance work such as fence checks, water pipe repairs and general reserve maintenance form part of the daily duties.

▪ Help with the maintenance of enclosures and upkeep of facilities including fencing checks and fixing

▪ Assisting with educational activities at the project

▪ Working in research and conservation & on Anti-Poaching projects

▪ Checking on cameras and research equipment

About the project

Integrated Learning Experiences was founded in 2005 by former Peace Corps staff that wanted to provide flexible volunteer programs with a positive impact.

Meet your organization

Integrated Learning Experiences’ (INLEX) mission is to strengthen human resources in Central America and South America through volunteer programs, educational travel and internship opportunities.

In addition to this, INLEX provides opportunities for students and professionals to further gain experience in their field of choice by matching participants with the best opening available.

We work towards:

  • Sustainability in the projects and communities that we work in.
  • Programs that promote cultural exchange.
  • Safe and affordable programs.
  • Strengthening and empowering communities.
  • Authentic experiences for our participants.
  • Facilitating education.

INLEX was set founded by former Peace Corps staff in Guatemala in 2005 who wanted to provide flexible programs for volunteers in Central America. This flexibility allows our participants the option to commit for as long as they want in the area they are best suited to support; creating a positive impact and a rewarding experience. We do this because we believe in the principle that every volunteer can make a difference.

Many years and happy people later, we continue working with key partner projects to develop communities in the Latin American region.
