About the program

This Tourism Vocational High School is a newly developing Trade High School in Ubud. Unfortunately, the school has yet to be recognized by the government of Indonesia and cannot qualify for funding. Therefore, it completely operates on private donations and volunteers. Schooling is not free after the 8th grade in Bali, leaving impoverished children nowhere to turn for Senior High School. Therefore the goals of this school are to provide education for underprivileged orphans from all over Bali, and to create job opportunities in the tourism industry for the students after graduation. Volunteers should be over 22 years old and be able to work alone. Moreover, they must prepare and hand in teaching and activity plans, consisting of ideas and creation of what they want to teach or present during their service in the project.

Surfing in Bali
Bali is a worldmekka for surf adventures. Beginners, advanced and professionals will find what they are looking for for an ultimate surf experience. Many surf guides and surf schools have established in the southern part of Bali and provide various offers to learn surfing or improve your skills.
Diving
Besides surfing, scuba diving is among the top 5 activities in Bali. A breath-taking underwater world with intact reefs and unique animals awaits you. Many dive centers offer courses for non-divers or snorkellers as well. They usually suggest different itineraries for everyone's needs. Let yourself be enchanted by Bali's underwater world.
Snorkeling
If you don't have a PADI license, you can simply go snorkeling at reefs close to Bali's shore. You may find manta rays, colorful and intact coral reefs or even small shipwrecks. Usually, you only need to pay 1 or 2 Euros to rent snorkeling equipment and off you go.
Rafting
Rafting is also a very popular watersport activity, where you can explore Bali's stunning landscapes on rivers. Many rafting companies offer different tours for beginners as well as for advanced.
Hiking Mount Agung & Batur

About the project

Bali Internships provides volunteer programs that encourage intercultural learning between local communities in Bali and both national and international visitors.

Meet your organization

As a local placement agency in Bali, we are specialized in providing quality individual internships in Bali and volunteer work placement services in Bali.

How it all started

We started back in 2010 have we established and sustained a vast network of trust, support and friendship among non-profit organizations, educational institutions, companies and international volunteers and interns.

We successfully built trustful and reliable connections of existing non-profit organizations and schools all around Bali that are legally acknowledged. Each and every program has been existing and running for years to work in favor of local communities and to preserve Bali’s natural beauty.

Our core strength

We identify where the support among our host programs is needed and where your motivation, skills and background as a volunteer could favor the community development.

Our motivation

We are motivated by our belief that international volunteers will make an extraordinary experience abroad. Working on an island, that is actually economically growing and dependent from increasing tourism, but controversially also suffering from it, will have a learning effect on the social-cultural understanding of each volunteer. It is our mission to raise awareness that giving back to Bali's people and nature is gratefully respected by local communities, who offer an outstanding hospitality and cultural experience in return.
