About the program

The activities that the volunteers carry out in Chile are directly in the family's house, where you will live during your volunteering.

Usually the families live in rural areas relatively close to the centre of Kurarewe.

The tasks involved in volunteering with Mapuche families are as follows:

  • Work and care of the vegetable garden of the family assigned to you.
  • Care and feeding of animals such as sheep, pigs, chickens, turkeys, among others.
  • Production of preserves
  • Chopping and sorting firewood
  • Helping in the kitchen, both cooking and washing and tidying up
  • Helping to collect fruits of the forest at harvest time.
It is important to keep in mind that some of the activities and tasks to be carried out are always subject to weather conditions, the interest and capacity of the volunteer and the needs of each family.

The day to day of the volunteer consists of a collaboration from Monday to Friday, approximately 4 or 5 hours, distributed during the morning or afternoon according to needs.

Typical day

The day to day of the volunteer consists of a collaboration from Monday to Friday, approximately 4 or 5 hours, distributed during the morning or afternoon according to needs.

A typical volunteer day begins with breakfast at the accommodation with all the volunteers. At the end, the volunteers go to the project, where they meet with the local coordinator to organize the activities planned for the day.

Throughout the morning each volunteer contributes to the assigned tasks. A stop is made for lunch and, depending on the needs, they continue with the tasks or have free time.

The volunteer can visit nearby areas in his spare time. In the evening, the group has dinner and prepares for the next day.

Support in the cooperation and creation of social and environmental projects in communities at risk of social exclusion, through international volunteering.

Meet your organization

ADVENTURE VOLUNTEER is a non-profit organization, established in 2017. We collaborate in the social and environmental field through projects of conservation and protection of the environment and animals, as well as in the social part through projects of empowerment of women, community development, functional diversity, medical or teaching.

Our team of collaborators has a deep experience in international volunteer programs.  We know all the realities of the areas where we are working, collaborating and where we have a presence.

Our projects offer volunteers the opportunity to meet, share and participate in social and environmental projects. These projects demand educational and recreational activities that benefit communities of different cultures and customs, communities with economic difficulties and different degrees of social exclusion.

Milo and his family are beyond amazing! It was an experience that I absolutely loved. The only thing I did not like is that you could walk nearly an hour into town OR take a $10 taxi every time you wanted to go into town. There were days where we went into town twice!
