Combine
your passion for animals and desire to give back to society by improving the unfortunate
situation of abandoned street animals in Costa Rica. During this volunteer
program, you can help look for a new safe and beautiful home for stray dogs and
cats.
The
program is managed by a local NGO in Costa Rica that aims to improve the
situation of the animals living on the streets. Due to the amount of work that
it takes to keep the program running, the help provided by volunteers is always
greatly appreciated. Many families in Costa Rica do not have the knoleage of Animal Welfare
especially in feeding. Thats why it is so important to educare families
who would like to get an animal as a family member. Animals are only mediated when the family have the correct surrounding for the cat or the dog.
The project is located on the beautiful pazific coast of Costa Rica.
Your
tasks as a volunteer may include:
- Caring for street dogs and cats (combing, taking dogs for walks)
- cleaning cages
- administering drugs
- supporting
sterilization procedures
- assisting in rescue operations
- distributing food for
animals on the street
- public relations and educational work
- maintaining websites
- helping to raise funds, etc.
What you can expect
Before
starting your volunteer work project, you will receive an orientation from our
local staff. The local stuff is runned by English and Spanish speaking people. They are very happy to welcome volunteers from all over the world. Usually you will be in the programm with other volunteers.

no special vaccinations required, but be sure to check in with your doctor for
additional advice.
