Who we are
The socio-environmental responsibility branch of Muyuna eco-lodge, an international touristic platform with more than 20 years of experience, is managed and
operated by their sister non-for-profit NGO: Muyuna Foundation. Dedicated in strengthening resilience with and for communities in the
Tamishyacu-Tahauyo reserve, we strive to assure local socioenvironmental stability throughout
the trajectory of collective development.
What we do
Alongside our neighbours, together with the international community, we co-create various means of
collaboration, centred in local environmental and cultural empowerment to
protect the forest and river. We aim to utilize regenerative land management practices,
youth development programs, ecotourism, community-based education, and
allocation of grants and international funding to sustain socio-environmental resilience
in the ACRTT.
The intention we put in our work
- Establish sustainable projects for the benefit of the community.
- Encourage environmental and social responsibility.
- Promote a culture of respect for human rights and nature.
- Generate fair job opportunities for residents of nearby communities.
Our values
We believe that each community has the potential to improve its living conditions through the creation of strategic alliances, which allow them to develop sustainable projects that contribute to their well-being. We are committed to being an active part of the community so that everyone has the opportunity to reach their greatest potential. We seek to develop in the community critical, reflective and creative thinking skills, foster collaborative work, continuous improvement and above all an education for a sustainable future. We are carrying out tourism, education and sustainability projects in the Tamshiyacu Tahuayo Regional Communal Conservation Area as an effort to implement a sustainable development model that takes into account the interests of the community and respect for the local culture
