They will be actively involved in gathering essential data on multiple shark species inhabiting our coastal waters. Our diverse research activities encompass non-invasive dorsal fin photo identification of great white and bronze whaler sharks, employing specialized software for precise analysis.

In addition to this, our volunteers will be engaged in comprehensive studies of the population dynamics of indigenous shark species. This includes participating in catch and release tagging surveys conducted both from our research vessel and along the shoreline. For those seeking a more hands-on experience, we offer snorkeling surveys, during which volunteers will learn to safely capture smaller sharks by hand – a truly immersive learning opportunity.

Our volunteers will also have the extraordinary chance to join shark cage diving trips. During these trips, they will gather crucial observational data to contribute to informed shark management decisions.
