About the program

This is an in-country hands-on internship program with provided shared housing and local team support.

This internship will involve tasks such as providing medical care to wild animals (birds, foxes, turtles, rabbits etc), cleaning cages, repairing/building cages, feeding animals, participating in actions (freeing animals, awareness events, etc) and maintenance of the facilities.

This program is important because together we will:

  • Rescue exhausted or trapped wild animals.
  • Take care of exhausted, sick, injured, or very young wild animals.
  • Rehabilitate animals that are fit for release in their natural habitat.
  • Raise public awareness and educate our fellow citizens and their children through environmental games and presentations.
  • Participate in events and festivals that aim to raise public awareness of environmental issues.

The team is made-up by professional vets & volunteers that participate in international environmental conservation & educational projects around Europe, eliminating any language barriers and offering international expertise.

Our wildlife conservation internship program offers veterinarians & volunteers of any background the opportunity to gain top quality experience interning on the wildlife conservation organization. With valuable experience, you’ll develop your skills and understanding of different conservation aspects.

Internships start on Mondays (with arrival on a Sunday) and interns have a choice to participate to a program between a minimum of 4 weeks or up to a maximum of 24 weeks .

For this program the participants need to be physically fit and able to undertake manual labor, enjoy practical activities, feeding & caring wild animals (birds, foxes, turtles, rabbits etc), work quickly and reliably both as part of a team and independently, have good oral and written communication skills, be safety aware.

As for Greece, perhaps there is no need for an introduction. It is one of the most popular and safest destinations in the world. Situated in southeast Europe it is blessed with sun, friendly people, rich cuisine and a truly unique landscape that spans from green forests to the deep blue sea. With its 2,500 years of history and its 1,400 islands there is plenty to discover in Greece and it will satisfy the most demanding visitor. Greece is one of the warmest countries in Europe with long, hot & dry summers and mild winters. The popular time to visit Greece is between May to September end. Occasionally heatwaves may occur with temperatures peaking (1-2 days) around 105°F / 41°C.
