About the program

With impressive environmental policies, unparalleled biodiversity, a rapidly developing economy and “pura vida” culture, there is no better place in the world to join an volunteering abroad. The insight provided during an entry-level Animal & Veterinary Care volunteering program is aimed to help determine whether a career working with animals is right for you. Volunteers assist with animal care at a veterinarian clinic and, according to any level of current veterinarian training, may additionally shadow and work alongside local veterinarians.

Typical tasks may include feeding and cleaning assistance, as well as providing medication, grooming, and tasks related to customer service within the clinic, front desk - arrange appointments, customer service, care of stationary animals. Volunteers are very important to help with the stationary housed animals. They do need a lot of attention and personal care.
